Delmy Varano: You won't be able to make up your mind just by watching the news on tv or listening to the UN IPCC, but it's helpful to do both. Then compare what you find there with what skeptics have to say. Good sources are listed below, to find pro-warming points of view just watch ABC/CBS/NBC or CNN news. The consensus is that humans may be causing some of the warming, we don't know how much. And we also don't know that the warming will be harmful. We do know the UN IPCC continues to use the hockey stick graph which has been widely discredited for conveniently eliminating the warmest and coolest parts of the last 1000 years. Draw your own conclusions about why that happened but it certainly made their chart look ominous. Though discredited, they still print it in their reports. There are also several good books you can read, the ones I'd recommend the most are 'Unstoppable Global Warming - Every 1500 Years' and 'Cool It - The Skeptical Environmentalist's Guide to Global ! Warming'. There seems to be a concerted effort to distort the facts about global warming, and not just on Al Gore's part. Temp monitoring stations are consistently moved to locations that will give warmer results such as parking lots and near heat sources. The AGW advocates repeat names of others who believe in warming and talk of consensus without telling you exactly what that consensus is.We're likely still 2-3 degrees C cooler than during the Medieval Warm Period, which may be why they want to stop including that in their charts. Not only has it been warmer without killing everyone and everything, CO2 levels have been far higher (10 times) than they are now, during a prior ice age. We're recovering from the Little Ice Age which only ended in the mid 1800s so naturally it's been getting warmer since then.If it did get warmer, it will make most of the Earth more inhabitable, not less, more humid, not less, with more CO2 which helps plants grow faster and with less water.D! espite claims that the temp has gone up dramatically, in the U! S the US National Climate Data Center, which has had the longest continuous period of reliable temperature measurements, 20th-century temperatures rose by 0.3C, much less than the figure given by the UN IPCC and temps have dropped a lot in the past year, with no new record high since 1998....Show more
Agustina Stimmel: Below are two excellent websites to educate your self on global warming and what specific things you can do to help.
Cecil Derenzi: RECYCLEand use less gas!
Olen Penhallurick: global warming is a wonderful thing, that is if it really exists- melting the polar ice caps is the only solution to the water shortage, it would also reduce the demand for fuel to heat our homes which in turn would help reverse global warming-on the down side, a couple of polar bears might die if they dont learn to adapt-but because evolution within a species does exist, they'll probably be fine too- its all a bunch of b.s.
Susan Rambo: Global warming is the inc! rease in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.for more info... go to wikipedia
Verdie Wollen: Help? (as in help the planet earth?)Best advice would be to think about ways in which you can live a good life by not polluting and conserving energy. That would save you wasted money and keep you in tune with mother earth.Nothing wrong with that, no matter how many will say that there is no global warming. However, be aware that many corporations are big polluters and haven't been fined enough by government. For them, you need to write to your elected officials and explain to them that the big corporate polluters who are ruining it for all of us, must be disciplined more. Also, buy products from earth friendly companies, and promote corporations that help our living environment.Do all these things, and enjoy a better life and hand earth to the next generations knowing you did your part. Thank you fo! r this opportunity to address your important question....Show more
