Monica Voltin: There are many New Yorkers who have to drive to work everyday and pay the increasingly high tolls. For those who don't drive to work, New Yorkers are faced with rising prices elsewhere. Our public transportation seems to be faced with increases all the time. The price for riding the buses, trains, etc. are always going up and taking a toll on our pockets. Even taxi's are raising prices with the gas prices.
Devon Kalberer: Gas prices will affect everyone. Although NYC has a great public transportation system it does not mean that there aren't any price hikes. Just recently a subway monthly card went up in price from $76 to $82. It won't be long before the price hike goes again. Most others whom work in NYC travel either from NJ, Staten Island or Long Island which run them even more money since the trains they take are different. Even with so many public transportation available there are stil ALOT of people who drive to work or drive to a parking area t! hen take a train to work....Show more
Krystal Cordovano: I take the bus every day to work. Free with my pass left over from school, saves the gas, and parking. Save about $250 a month doing that. It does affect me at the store, where increasing costs are shown.
Mandy Mustaro: My friend, with gas price going up everyday of the week, living in NYC is very good. You don't need a car in NYC, when you got the best public transport system in the country. Good luck
