Booker Warlick: I wish my little girl was like this...most times she'd rather be staring at the FUWA (Beijing Olympic Mascots) picture on the wall then play with me. She will notify me when it's my turn. But it might be she's used to that much attention. I don't know if it's similar but when my hubby comes home she does fuss a lot to be picked up and entertained...because he will spend the time before her bedtime doing that so she expects it when she sees him. Whereas I am doing things during the day and will play with her but I still have to make bottles, wash dishes, clean up and still go to work....Show more
Mitsuko Manne: Maybe try a sling? Or a front carrier? I don't know. My son is only 11 weeks and he doesn't really care if he is being held or not! BUT my niece (she is 12 weeks!!) needs to be held CONSTANTLY and doesn't like the swing, the bouncy thing or her crib with a mobile! Every baby is completely and utterly different in every sense. So she may j! ust love her mommy so much she doesn't want to be away from her! Sorry, I have no suggestion tho!!!! But it does sound normal. Also, my friends 5 month old doesn't like to be held while YOU are sitting down, he will cry until you stand up. So...!...Show more
Lino Cawthorne: Sounds like she is just used to what she likes. I do not feel babies get bored until around 9 months. I don't think she's fussy either. I think she just has gotten used to some things and knows what she wants. It is okay to let a baby cry so you can get somethings done. Either way, remember you are forming habits with and for your child:)
Hyman Coren: i know what you mean my baby is exactly the same she is just over 6 months now, i never seem to have time to do anything through entertaining her, she never sleeps too so that makes it even worse! however she has got to the stage where she is crawling/shuffling about on her own now so she has started to entertain herself alot more, just th! ought id let you know your not the only one!! lol
Linwoo! d Mccory: Yes. Some babies like to be entertained more than others. Mine loves his jumper.
Daria Verfaillie: Not all babies need to be held all the time, but most babies want to be entertained -- either by you, a toy, or something really interesting to look at. Babies don't like to be cooped up in bouncy seats or swings for that long -- put her on a blanket and give her a chance to explore and wiggle her body. My baby is 5 months and loves to lay on her back and look at the Tiny Love mobile or play with her toys on a blanket or just look around. She was the same way at 4 months. When you put her on a blanket with toys, play with her and, after awhile, jump up to do a quick chore (throw in a load of laundry). Talk to her the entire time so she knows you're nearby. It's good to start doing this soon because you don't want to end up with a bigger baby who cries all the time when not held....Show more
