Lillie Yarde: I am not RICH! But my job provides me with a health care package. Even if they DIDN'T, id look for some for myself. As a "grown adult" Id take it up to ME to keep MYSELF covered in case of an accident. I know people with families who REFUSE to even LOOK for coverage. And just live their life BUYING steak and or lobster dinners 2 - 3 times a week. People need to budget THEMSELVES and 'put aside for a rainy day' for them AND their kids. It's NOt up to the government to "dole" out "health care welfare" for ALL of its citizens. And people are constantly praising Sweden, UK, the Netherlands, Canada and Cuba as "perfect societies" for universal health care....Show more
Alden Sabio: Well, the problem with your question is that you have confused two separate issues. This is a common misconception among liberals and democrats in general, and our President has furthered this fallacy in pursuit of his true goal, power. In your question you asked "So Health ca! re should only be for the rich?"Yet in your explanation you wrote "But insurance companies have set whatever rules the feel like and charge what ever they feel like"Let's start with something simple, do you understand the difference between health care and health insurance? They are not the same thing.Health care is defined as the treatment a patient receives from a medical professional.Health insurance is a product that a consumer can purchase from a private business. It is no different from life insurance, auto insurance, flood insurance, a loaf of bread, or a gallon of milk. You do not need to have health insurance in order to receive health care. There is absolutely nothing wrong with visiting your doctor and paying the bill with cash, credit card, or whatever other form of payment your doctor chooses to accept for selling you his product. (Health care is also a product by the way.)The problem with the health care bill that recently passed is that it does not address the ! cost of health care. It forces Americans to purchase health in! surance, but it does nothing to affect the cost of health care.If you really want to decrease the cost of a trip to your doctors office you should focus on how the doctor arrived at the amount he is charging you for the visit. For example, why should an annual physical cost up to $500 in some cases for a 10 minute check-up? How did the doctor arrive at that figure? Why aren't we asking those questions in stead of trying to force others to pay our medical expenses? Why aren't we asking about the outrageous prices of some medications? Why should we or insurance companies pay those outrageous prices? If we really want to reform health care, then we should be looking at these types of issues, not just forcing someone to pay the outrageous costs....Show more
Floyd Labuda: no it should be free to all an come out of the taxes that are already paid for not forcing every one to buy it
Lilli Kochel: The Capitalist system has its ups and downs...The Socialist system just h! as downs with the promise of ups.
Myron Leftwich: Well, the new health bill pretty much makes good care only available to the rich. Remember, the Republicans wanted REAL reform, and that would have only happened if Insurance was available to all states. Competition would have controlled prices. The Obama bill kept the Insurance monopoly (didn't you wonder why insurance did not make much noise) in place. The rationing in the health bill will make good care only available to the very rich-- for cash....Show more
James Langmyer: Why would a company be against, gaining more customers? Your argument states, that 19 states get paid by insurance companies, to ensure, they dont get more people in those states forced to buy their product?
Ruthe Real: Let's face it, Insurance Companies are whores.
