Do you prefer poetry to rhyme?

Dee Depung: it is easier for me to read into it if it rhymes, but if it doesnt, its ok too.

Alvaro Oare: Poetry has to have rhythm before it has rhyme. Simply tacking matching words on the ends of sentences doesn't make them poetic.

Frank Crummell: i do prefer it when it rymes because then it makes it outstanding when someone reads it and says.... o my god i cant believe someone actually came up with that. because it goes so good togeather and it fits. it makes it harder and more sweet.

Coleman Deliberato: Personally, I can't get into a poem that rhymes if it is bad (and there are many bad rhyming poems round here). I prefer a poem that does not rhyme and that is a good poem. Maybe you should read more poetry, you would realize that rhyming has nothing to do with the quality of poetry.

Randall Twehous: Rhyming is large! yet as DayVid has suggested human beings will start to lose the writing malicious program interior the flexibility of arising a ch! unk and growth: out pops the dictionary of 'what rhymes with crime?" enable it bypass and it would be fantastic :-) good success!

Hye Caulley: It's hard for me to get into bad poetry (poems with bad forced rhymes or prose disguised as poetry because it has line breaks).I think you limit yourself if you say your poetry has to rhyme. I mean as long as your rhymes are not forced--they fit in the poem naturally without just being there for the sake of the rhyme fine. If you also enjoy rhyming great, nothing wrong with that at all. What you really are saying is that poetry needs rhythm which is absolutely correct, but poetry can have rhythm without rhyme. As to my preference, I prefer all good poetry whether it rhymes or not....Show more

Angelyn Ducas: :) I like poetry that rhymes...but I also like free verse that doesnt rhyme. I actually just had a book of poetry published. Some of it rhymes and some of it doesnt :)Trish Awww.freewebs.com/trishasbook

Jackson Es! miol: I prefer poems to be of quality first. Often times rhym! ing done poorly distracts from the poem's other qualities. With a good poem, the rhyming shouldn't be the first or even second or third thing you notice about the poem.

Sunshine Holets: if the main thing in a poem for you is rime, why not just make yourself a list of riming words and gross out on them?bum drum gum hum scum mum.there, did that make you feel good?...Show more
